Choose Golf Shoes Wisely

Your swing may well change with experience, your accuracy and distance will definitely improve with practice, and you’ll become deadly accurate with a putter, but you will always do these things while you are standing on your feet.
So, your feet need to be comfortable! Have you ever developed a blister while walking or running? It’s all you can think about and it ruins the experience of what you are doing. Don’t let uncomfortable shoes ruin your game of golf.
This is one area where you shouldn’t let your frugality make the decision for you. You will be wearing these shoes many times over a long time and they should be considered a good investment in your game of golf.
Comfortability, not expense, should be your main concern when you are purchasing any shoes, not only golf shoes. Your foot should not move at all at the heel when you walk, but your toes shouldn’t feel at all cramped. Be sure to have your shoes fitted professionally and walk around in them before you actually buy them.
Serious golf shoes should be waterproof so that your feet remain dry in damp conditions. Good socks are important too; they will take perspiration away from you feet, keeping your feet dry and comfortable.
All golf courses prohibit metal spikes on golf shoes in an effort to protect their delicate greens. Purchase shoes that allow you to change the rubber spikes easily, and while you’re doing that, purchase some extra spikes. You never know when you may lose one. You should also replace the spikes when they become worn.
You have many things to think about while playing golf, but your feet shouldn’t be one of them. When it comes to golf shoes, quality counts.

Ladies Golf Apparel and Fashion

I was reading one of those ‘Golfing for Women’ magazines the other day and started wondering where the women live, who wear the golf attire modeled in women’s golfing magazines? I’ve never seen women, not even the professionals, who would dress in such expensive and outrageous clothing.
It’s so simple to spend tons of money kitting yourself out for the sport of golf. Think about hats, sunglasses, gloves, shirts, shorts, socks, windsheeters and shoes, and it is obvious that the costs add up very quickly, even if you do your shopping at cheap online sales. Then you have to factor in the cost of clubs, balls, bag, cart and fees and you have to play a round of golf really quite frequently to keep the “CPU” (cost per use) down to a tolerable level.
One half-page glossy advertisement showed a beautiful young ‘golfing lady’ in really tiny hot-pants (like that’s permitted on golfing greens!) that cost nearly $300, a golf shirt at almost $600, a jacket by Ralph Lauren at almost $200 and two-toned Utuser shoes costing $400 plus.
That comes to almost $1,500! I know that I could never hope to get the CPU on that outfit down to anywhere near an acceptable level in my lifetime! Don’t get me wrong – I love clothes and I really love shoes, but could never afford, or even want, golf shoes or pants that cost more than most people’s weekly wage.
Granted, you want comfortable golf shoes that don’t look like something your grandmother would have worn, but you can easily find less expensive and still fashionable shoes.
I have several really trendy golf outfits, although none of them are brand names. If I totalled up the cost of all of them, it would not come to the price of a Tse golf shirt. Personally, I’d rather have several stylish outfits than one outrageously priced one.
If I were to wear a $1,500 set of golfing attire to play golf in, I would just be too worried about getting it grubby or perspiring in it to enjoy a proper round of golf.
Essentials of Golfing Etiquette

Golf is a carefully balanced game of rules and etiquette, and it’s quite important to know the essentials of golfing etiquette before you go on the course to play your first game of golf.
It doesn’t matter whether you are playing alone, in a twosome or in a foursome, golfing etiquette demands that you must always wait your turn. You must remain aware of the group on the next hole and wait until they are well ahead of you before hitting your ball.
Golfing etiquette also says that it is never correct to “push” the group in front of you. If you are playing with others, wait your turn to hit the ball and never play at the same time as another player.
While you are waiting for your turn to play, go to your ball and decide which golf club you will select and how you are going to hit the golf ball with it. This is called “ready golf” and keeps the game moving along, but don’t hurry everybody, just be ready for your turn to play.
Another useful piece of golfing etiquette, especially for beginners is ‘playing through’. For example, if your team is holding up the players behind you, perhaps because you are playing consistently over par or taking a long time to choose your club, let them play through. You would simply wave them through, or if they are not far away from you, just ask them if they would like to play through. You will never make an enemy by doing this!
When someone is making a shot, you should be behind them and you shouldn’t make any noise! It is so distracting to be ready to tee off and just as you pull back, someone decides to jingle loose change in their pocket or noisily unwrap a piece of candy.
Replacing divots. Let’s say you are on the fairway and you strike the ball a bit thick and a clump of dirt and grass goes flying, golfing etiquette says that you ought to replace it. On some courses you just put the turf back and step on it to keep it down, but on most courses, there is a sand/seed mixture on the course to put into the divot. Also, if your ball makes a deep impression when it lands on the green, you should use your divot tool to repair it.
As soon as you have completed a hole, replace the flag and leave the green as quickly and quietly as possible there may be another team teeing off at the next hole) so that the next players can play that hole. Tally up your score and write it on the scorecard as soon as you get back to your trolley.
Of course, there are many more rules of golfing etiquette, but these simple ones will enable you to get through the course without making anyone annoyed. If we all keep to golfing etiquette we will keep the game dignified, right?
About Nike Golf Shoes

Nike golf shoes are one of the things you can use to raise the quality of your game. If you have only played golf in casual footwear so far, or if you’re just looking for a way to improve your general game, buying a good pair of golf shoes can make a large difference. Just like in other sports, the shoes you wear can directly affect your performance.
As you have to have a smooth swing and be able to follow through on your swing in golf, all without losing control of the strength of your swing, your golf shoes can help or hinder your game. Nike golf shoes are designed to help you balance, gripping the turf as much as needed yet letting you put full strength and control behind each swing.
Since these golf shoes have special compartments in the heels, every step is easier and lighter to make. They offer the level of support your feet, legs and knees require in order to play golf very comfortably for longer periods of time.
Because golf usually involves a lot of walking, Nike golf shoes have been constructed as a blend of walking shoe and golf shoe. Each step you take cushions your legs and knees against impact, allowing you to concentrate your strength and effort on your game of golf, rather than how to make your way to the next hole or to wherever your ball has landed.
When you go to buy Nike golf shoes, there are several things that you ought to keep in mind. The first thing you should consider is your level of skill. Golf, like many other sports, has equipment that can be used by beginners or advanced professionals alike, but it is better to differentiate between the skill levels.
In many cases, beginners pick Nike golf shoes suited for professionals, but never end up finding the full potential of the shoe, since they are not certain how they can be used to their best advantage.
While professionals definitely can get great use out of these Nike golf shoes, it is often better for amateurs to purchase entry level Nike golf shoes which will better suit their needs. The increase in power given to your stroke would usually be lost on those who are beginners, as they do not yet possess the requisite skill to control the stroke as much as they would need to.
So, it is best to purchase the Nike golf shoes that match your level of skill, since these shoes will have the comfort and functionality you need. You can buy Nike golf shoes from a number of sources. For those who want cheaper shoes yet still require the quality of the professional shoes, you can purchase last season’s shoes from Nike outlet centers.
If you want only top of the line shoes, you can purchase from online Nike stockists or through a number of online and local retail outlets (see below).

On some courses you just put the clod back and step on it to press it down, but on most courses, there is a sand/seed mixture on the course to put into the divot. If your ball makes a deep impression when it lands on the green, you can use your divot tool to repair it.
As soon as you have completed a hole, replace the flag and leave the green quickly so that the next players can play that hole. Count your score and write it on the scorecard when you’re back at your cart.
